Wiltimply collects as little personal information as possible. There are no accounts, no advertising networks and no cross-site tracking on this site. This notice explains what we do collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
When you write to the support desk, telephone us, submit the contact form or register for an event, we receive what you choose to send: typically a name, an email address or telephone number, the subject of your enquiry, and anything you write in the message. Event registrations may also include access requirements you tell us about, so we can meet them.
Our web server keeps standard access logs: the page requested, the date and time, the response code, the referring page where one is sent, and a truncated form of the network address. Addresses are shortened before storage so that individual visitors cannot be identified from them. We use this only to keep the site working and to see which pages are read.
No advertising identifiers, no social media pixels, no third-party analytics that build profiles across sites, no fingerprinting, and no location data beyond the coarse region implied by a truncated network address.
We rely on your consent, given when you choose to contact us or register, and on our legitimate interest in operating a working website. Specifically we use information to:
We do not use enquiries to build a marketing list. We add nobody to any mailing without an explicit request, and there is nothing on this site that signs you up as a side effect of doing something else.
Three things are saved locally on your device: your display preferences (dark mode, high contrast, text size), your progress ticks on roadmaps and trackers, and nothing else. This information never reaches us. It is stored using your browser's local storage rather than cookies, and clearing your browsing data removes it. Personal information stays within the small team who answer the support desk. We share it outside the centre only in three situations:

Two external services appear on our pages. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps. Loading these means your browser contacts Google's servers, which will receive your network address and standard request information. Their handling of that is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours. No other third-party content is embedded anywhere on this site.
Under Canadian federal and provincial privacy legislation you may ask us to:
Write to info@wiltimply.info or telephone (613) 555-0148. We respond within thirty days and we will not charge you. We may ask a question to confirm we are speaking to the right person, which protects you rather than us.
If you are unsatisfied with how we handle a privacy matter, you may raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or with the relevant provincial commissioner. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Correspondence is held in accounts protected by strong authentication and accessible only to staff who need it. Access is reviewed when someone joins or leaves the team. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affected your information in a way that created a real risk of significant harm, we would tell you and the appropriate authority as required by law.
Our material is written for adults and for students approaching working age, and it is safe for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
When this notice changes we update the date at the top of the page and describe what changed. Material changes are noted on the home page for a month. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated notice.
